    In May the Huron District was abolished but clergy in the United Counties of Huron, Bruce and Perth County continued to send marriage returns to the clerk of the peace. The surviving Huron District Marriage Register abruptly ends in Ontario Census Records & Earlier Canadian Census returns vary. The first general Ontario census was taken in , and but not all survive. There are scattered census records before but each area took its own census, so researchers need to check the book of available census returns (found in any public library of Ontario or at the Archives) to find out what years are.
